How can I add a command line switch in powerpoint?

Postby naxoscg » Sun Mar 07, 2010 3:14 am

Hi all,

I am trying to open a powerpoint file in powerpoint view WITHOUT the MS PPT splash screen that always comes before the presentation. I'm linking several pps in one neobook presentation and the spash each time is distracting.

According to MS, I can add

/s

following pptview.exe to disable the spash. But I'm missing something in the syntax and can't get it to work.

This is a the command line I'm running.
Run "!G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\PPTVIEW.EXE" "!G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\voc1.ppt" "Normal" "" ""

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Hi..

Try this:
Code: Select all
Run "!G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\PPTVIEW.EXE" " /s !G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\voc1.ppt" "Normal" "" ""

Thanks, but that was the first thing I tried. When running this line, I get a message "that Powerpoint View cannot find the file "voc1.ppt"

Any other suggestions?

Hi..

Try to use it without the literar character !. Like this:
Code: Select all
Run "G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\PPTVIEW.EXE" " /s G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\voc1.ppt" "Normal" "" ""

Also double check that the file exist, is not locked for access, the path is right.

Have you tried creating a .cmd file (I like them better than batch files as it launches the cmd interpreter for you).

content of something.cmd:

G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\PPTVIEW.EXE /s
G:\NeoBook\Ppt\pptview\voc1.ppt

Then use the NB run command to launch the CMD file.

Hope it helps.
