limited time to answer

Postby fabconv » Mon Oct 16, 2006 7:07 am

hello everybody (french people)

can you tell me how to limit time to answer a question ?

if no answer after 10 secondes, go to the next question
but if an answer is given (a number) after 4 secondes, go to the next answer

i tried with a loop whileex but no success.
thanks a lot

... have you looked at the Timer object ?
if no answer after 10 secondes, go to the next question but if an answer is given (a number) after 4 secondes, go to the next answer

- do a TimerStart command as soon as you display a question
- If user response detected (i.e. answer button clcked or change in content of TextEntry Box that accepts answer) ... then do a TimerStop and do whatever you need to do to process user's response
- If TimerInterval (10 seconds) reached (place code in TimerInterval section to) goto next question/answers

P.S. Make the property of the Timer Object such that it "stops after one interval"

Something else you might want to do is disable Page Up/Page Down in the book properties/access section to prevent your user from returning to a question when the time has run out.
