Container loading calculator

I want to make a container loading calculator like on this page.

Is there any way to do that in neobook? How shall i start?

I may be wrong, but I think that kind of very complex application is beyond what can be done with NeoBook.

Dave.. when you say that, it only makes some of us think 'hmmm.... I wonder if I could find a way'.

Still you would have to determine the biggest items first, and what would make them fit into the designed facility and if there were smaller items that fit with the largest to make it fit. One problem is understanding if the 'boxes' could be stacked in more than one way which could increase the calculations by 4-6 times.

It would be a challenge Dudas. I think not impossible but you will have to run through possibly hundreds of scenarios to find the optimal ones.

This is a very vague (terse) specification of an Application to be developed ...

1) is the Application required to determine the optimal placement of boxes ? ... if so ...

a) how many destinations ?

b) how many different box sizes ?

c) can you place a 1000 Kg. box on top of a 40 Kg. box of same/larger size ?


2) is the Application ALSO required to then make a diagram as shown in the image ?

3) what happens if there is not enough room for all the boxes ?

4) OR is the Application ONLY required to calculate the Weight, Volume, Free Meters and Shift in Length ... and how are these values calculated ?

5) What is the budget for such an Application ?

I'm afraid that container visualization (which is main part here) would be impossible to implement. Logic of math calculations is very complex too, including equations and inequalities.
It can be done with some other tools or plugins but then neobook would be just a front-end wrapper of all this implementations.

Sure, and it's a known math problem

You might be able to use some javascript library to create the 3D container view, one thing comes to mind: http://mapplic.com/plugin/
But if th program is expected to give you the best arrangement for your whatever product/cases then I figure whatever the road you choose its not gonna be simple...

You would need to use a Web Browser object and execute the JavaScript there using NeoBook's BrowserExecScript action.

Yeah, in my conception a Webbrowser would be needed and then the variables could be stored on a flatfile db and get passed by filewriting the js or something... I use charts on some of my applications and follow a procedure like that, I figure might be possible to adapt such thing to work with the plugin.
