Adjust multiple objects sizes at once

Postby schmutly » Sun Aug 17, 2014 6:53 pm

Hello. When i want to adjust several text areas at a time why is the width/height
greyed out yet thier positions are adjustable for multiple selections...
or is there another way to adjust many sizes at once?
Sometimes i arrange the layout and some overlap so i have to adjust them
one by one or an i missing something?
Image
Thanks,
Rob

I think you do not miss something.

... yet thier positions are adjustable for multiple selections...

This is not 'their position'. It is the upper left corner of the rectangel surrounding all clicked objects.
Kind of group corner. So editing move them all together relativ.

Hi Hans,
See the image...if i click the first box (JUST ONE ONLY ..say) i can adjust the width of it and how high it is..
The first one is 250x134. I want all 3 to be 250x134.. But as soon as i select 2 boxes (so that i can make them..let say thinner about 10px)
those adjustments are not accessible. The width at "134" if i could change that to 100,say, then click apply
so that all 3 are 100..but you cant. BUT...like i said, am i dumb and have missed something so easy all these
years HAHA...i just cant see it in docs how to do it or where it is.
Sorry..i must be stupid but i don't see how to adjust the WIDTH (250 in image) and the thickness size (134)
so that all THREE selected change to say, lets make them ALL 100x20...i cant do that.I have to do it one by one.
Thats what i mean...is this not able to do because you can do it with ALIGN when you highlight many objects
but not adjust their diameters..THe 13 shows pixels from left of Pub,19 from bottom of Pub..those seem to be adjustable
for all 3 highlighted at once..but you cant seem to "EFFECT" the size and width of an object if you highlight MORE then one.
Thanks
Rob

ps: if this can be done....fantastic...show we where that adjustment is ( although it SHOULD be exactly in the image).
I know you can accidentally highlight those 3 text boxes AND a rectangle and all 4 would adjust when you inadvertently
selected MORE then just the 3 above in that example. Its there i'm sure..but i cant find it.

You are right. You do not miss something, because it is not currently possible. So a wish for the wishlist.
My comment was only refering to the LEFT/TOP fields which act like a group field.
(One opion would be to edit them with a text-editor in the pub-source.)

OK...so i MADE an App to do it :)
Image
As in above image:
1. Run program HERE(NEWER VERSION at Bottom)
2. Select multiple objects in NeoBook you wish to resize.(like the 3 text boxes above selected).
3.Put in your new Width and Height that you want them ALL to be.
4.Click Doit. DONE :)
It only adjusts the W & H of all selected objects and doesn't touch any other data in the
objects and if one left blank will not adjust.
Add it to your tools in top menu for quick access.
Anyway, this will do me until one-day...if it does get put into NeoBook.
Rob.
Thanks for the idea Hans

Cheers.

Pub download fails.

Still does not work.
Windows7 64

May be due to Cyrillic in the page header?

Hi,
the pub downloaded fine just now.
Ill Zip it up for you and redo above link.(5 mins time)
It probably IS due to that Cyrillic. Im using HPW hpwFindAWindow "NeoBook 5 Pro" "" "[NEOhandle]"
and your screenshot shows same in title-bar (or maybe different)?
In any case the pub is simple, especially for you, so im sure you'll modify it slightly to work.
Give me a moment, will upload a zip AND give a drop-box link as well.
Seeya
Rob

Pub dropbox link HERE

I have Win 7 64 too...works good for me.Maybe in the Pub you can see
something i missed?
Seeya

PS:
Just tried it again with a NeoDBpro Movie library with twenty boxes and
worked flawless..the only trouble i see is the hpwFindAWindow AND hpwSendKeysToHandle
i use..if i compile it, for me anyway, and run it its works great..but i have odd behaviour
if run from F9 within NB. But it does work and it will come in handy for future until it gets
added i guess..i better get to work now..also dropbox works too. All links work so maybe
try different browser. :P

Here it is working:

Interesting idea to script the IDE!

.. if i compile it, for me anyway, and run it its works great..but i have odd behaviour
if run from F9 within NB.

Running it with F9 makes no sense, since this is a tool for editing other Pub's.
Running with F9 blocks editing in the IDE, which makes logical sense.

PS: You can use hpwReplaceRegExp for the replace-code. ;-)

Your right .
hpwReplaceRegExp "W=\d+" "[Clipboard]" "W=[width]" "1" "[Clipboard]"
Now its all done with only your plugins .. ;) hehee

On the Russian localization hpwSendKeys not working properly.

Works well hpwAutoIt.

In order to be worked on the Russian localization of keystrokes, the keyboard layout has to be English.

I used the command from the plugin zmKBChangeLayout zmFunctions.

Pub if you're interested.

Plagins
zmFunctions
hpwAutoIt
hpwControl

To align left or right, you need to select one line to the left or above and specify indentation.

While someone like ... You can select all. :)

In general, this option should be added to the program.
It's all bones.
