IE is just a piece of crap.

I've had some issues with Chrome, but what can you do...

Can you give me an example of a jquery website that doesn't work in NeoBook's browser?

Wrangler,

The problem with the website is caused by the IE7 compatibility mode. The registry fix should solve this, but if you're testing your pub from within NeoBook you will also need to add a registry entry on your development PC for the test-mode exe created by NeoBook. For example:

MySuperDuperNeoBookApp_Test.exe = (DWORD) 00009999

I was able to do this here with your website and it displayed the rounded corners and formatting correctly in NeoBook.

Note: the registry entry must be of type DWORD. It cannot be created with NeoBook's RegistryWrite action which only supports strings.

Hello to all,

Neosoft Support wrote:Note: the registry entry must be of type DWORD. It cannot be created with NeoBook's RegistryWrite action which only supports strings.

I add right now a new argument to the npRegWriteValue action from my npConf plugin in order to accept strings and also integers values to be write on the Windows Registry. So, we can work on this issue using a code like this:

Code: Select all
npRegCreate "[ID]"
npRegOpenKey "[ID]" "Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION" "True" "[Result]"
npRegWriteValue "[ID]" "OurApplication.exe" "9999" "Integer" "[Result]"
npRegCloseKey "[ID]" "[Result]"
npRegDestroy "[ID]" "[Result]"

This code create the appropiate "dword" value in the specified Windows registry key. The npConf plugin is now updated and also the NeoPlugins Mega Pack.

Update: I test with a publication using the above code and all work like expected: the emulation engine used in the "WebBrowser" object is the correct, not the "IE7 standard" mode used by default. Hope this can might of interest to someone. ;)

Hello,

I'am prepare a sample with two publications: one that use the WebBrowser object with standard emulation (IE7) and other that use the WebBrowser object with the installed Internet Explorer version. Take a look and you can see the diference between this two diferents modes using my NeoPlugins site as sample. Hope this might be of your interest. Download the sample (including the publications binaries) from the bellow link:
